When Neil decided to add guest accommodation to his Coolum Beach home, there was already an existing deck where the room was most likely to go. So, rather than remove it, he opted to build our mass timber backyard cabin alongside the deck, creating a stunning flow-on effect from the main house. The Home Show was held in the new International Convention Centre (ICC) Sydney located in Darling Harbour. People could come to touch and feel our most popular Sicilia model and meet our builders’ team servicing Sydney and around within a 300 km radius.

The year 2019 was a prolific one, it saw the construction of new Scandinavian cabins, granny flats and houses spread across Australia. YZY Kit Homes were used in varying ways. The larger units were utilized as homes, independent living spaces specially designed for teenagers, guest houses or bed and breakfasts. The smaller studio-type cabins were utilized as art studios, home offices, music rooms, pool houses and sheds.

Homeowners Catherine and Alex recently added granny flat Rhodes at the back of their property in Sydney. When drummer and vocalist Brian ‘Lanky’ Moore retired, he decided to fulfil a lifelong dream and build his own music room.
