Looking back at 2018, it’s been yet another amazing year with many Scandinavian cabins, granny flats and even homes built across Australia. Use of YZY Kit Homes was very diverse.
While larger 1 and 2 bedroom buildings were used as a main house, accommodation for guests or B&B, smaller studio-type cabins were mainly used as a teenage studio, a home office, parents retreat, a pool house and a craft room.
The need for more space starts the process. Clients consult with the builder exchanging ideas, builder looks at the site potential and restrictions. After a few discussions, working together teams find the most suitable solution. And the results are amazing, take a look at some of the cabins built in 2018.

Sicilia 20m² Teenage retreat built to complete the ultimate outdoors
Sicilia 20m² was built to complete the ultimate outdoors. A basketball court, plentiful seating and dining area with the fire pit. We have published more images and details about this project here.

Elegant Guest House Built in Canberra
This modern guest house was built by Canberra Outdoor Structures in ACT. Our Sicilia cabin built with a spacious deck warping the cabin on two sides was customized to suit young family’s needs to have a home office as well as a space to accommodate guests. Rural Retreat For Airbnb
Our most popular timber studio Sicilia was built for Airbnb letting in Telegraph Point, near Port Macquarie. Built near the main house on a generous acreage it is the first cabin of many to be built later down the track. You can read about this project and view more pictures in this article.
Studio Corsica built in Armidale
This bright looking backyard beauty Corsica was build by New England Building Recyclers in Armidale over the Christmas break. Cabin size is 4m x 5m which is the maximum size of the structure allowed to be built without council permission in New South Wales. Corsica cabin built with a spacious deck warping the cabin on two sides – what an amazing project!. You can see more pictures and read more about this project in this article.
Backyard cabin Crete Karen’s Sewing Room
A beautiful custom size Corsica cabin was supplied and installed by Custom Creations for Karen and Micheal on the NSW Central Coast. The Corsica is used as Karen’s Sewing Room.

Granny Flat Cyprus Display in Canberra
Our charming Cyprus was added to Canberra Structures yard as a display cabin in Queanbeyan. This is our Display Village and convenient one-stop-shop for Canberra and areas of New South Wales within a 300 km radius.
Loft in a Bedroom – great space for storage or sleeping High-pitched ceilings bring a sense of openness.
Classic style Craft room
This Classic style Craft room was built by our team Canberra Outdoor Structures in ACT. A functional craft room has 3 built-in wardrobes installed in the 6.6 m wide back wall to organize neatly all craft materials. Lots of windows and French doors bring the natural light into the room. 3 cabins on site, a Home Office and a cabin by the river
Below is a collage of some other interesting projects completed in the year 2018. At the top left, two Crete cabins were added to Corsica cabin in the background, installed last year. All the 3 cabins were built in Armidale by New England Building Recyclers. At the top right side painted white cabin Crete was built by Canberra Outdoor Structures. Cabin is used as a Home Office by a University professor in ACT.

Cyprus, standard and custom Sicilias and Corsica cabins
Below you can see our Cyprus built in Cooma. The building faces beautiful scenery of hills, trees and the background of sky. Bottom left cabin enjoys the serenity of a sizable land and views in the Snowy Mountains.
